You wont make much mining on a GPU anymore. The difficulty has increased pretty dramatically already from the few ASIC miners that are already starting to hit the market. Your GPU probably produces ~300Mhash/sec where as a $150 ASIC miner can do 4,500Mhash/sec or you can spend $1,200+ and push 60,000Mhash/sec. As the total hashrate power continues to rise so too will the difficulty to mine them.

One of the first ASIC miners made $1,300 in 9 days. But don't expect to make anywhere near that if you did get an ASIC miner. The difficulty would be so high by then you'd probably be lucky to make $50/week
