Yeah. It was a fucking massive jackpot, but with so many winners, it's not a set-for-life situation.
Their taxes aren't much higher than ours, and they have an excellent health care system including universal coverage with
no out-of-pocket expenses (except medication), and
free college, and they have extensive clean, comfortable public transportation, so no car is necessary. - so that frees up lots of cash. And their kids probably aren't in schools that are falling apart with a 35:1 student/teacher ratio.
We could probably have that shit, too, but we love our complicated tax system with its loopholes that let some of the largest corporations pay nothing, and let the rich deduct yachts and dancing horses while hiding their money all over the world.
