I thought everyone in Vancouver flew first class. . LoL.
If you're like me and flying coach, 90% of the time when I've asked to move I've been allowed to. Also, always always ask the counter person for an upgrade. 75% of the time the AA flight counter waitresses will do it if you're sweet and nice and everything.
The worst flight I ever had was sitting window, lady in the middle, and some loud mouth male on the aisle seat. Jesus christ. Two solid hours staring out the window while he's in his typical male "I'm hitting on you and I look and sound really stupid but can't tell that you're extremely annoyed and think I am a real moron" spiel. She keeps looking over at me hoping I will interrupt the idiot, like, SAVE ME and I don't even know what to say. Stare out the window and hope we land soon. Stare out the window and hope we land soon. Stare out the window and hope we land soon. Stare out the window and hope we land soon.
PS: If they won't allow you to move, politely but very audibly ask them to move the people with the screaming child, the cold they keep coughing up, etc. It's rude as hell but SOMETIMES it gets the point across.
