Even on TV it's becoming that way, people often have ABC iView, Netflix for viewing video content, Facebook on their TV, when they do leave Facebook it's often to go to a news site, which in this country are rapidly rolling out Apps and becoming subscription based.
Most of us live outside of the world of the average consumer, we create content therefore fool ourselves into believing that all the sites we visit is the norm, however I am sure there is a growing segment of our population for which Facebook and the odd cloud based service is their entire scope of the Internet.

Actually, a very good point...and probably quite true in many cases.
People tend to congregate in places they become familiar with...developing a 'comfort zone' - much like visiting the same pub over and over as you get to know the other regular patrons, bartender, etc....even if there's a half dozen bars on the same street.
