I am not friends with the owner of Lunar Pages web hosting. Not sure exactly where you get that info from. They are based in California and are a large company. I do have a friend that works there in customer support who helps me out when I need it. They just have the highest payout of webhosting affiliate programs, and they are a host I trust that if I recommend to someone, they are not going to blame me for shitty hosting. I know there service is good.
