CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) ? A prosecutor says a suspect in the fatal shooting of a West Virginia sheriff was legally prohibited from possessing one.
Mingo County Prosecutor Michael Sparks declined to say Wednesday where 37-year-old Tennis Melvin Maynard bought the gun. But Sparks says "it appears that the system didn't work."
Sparks also declined to elaborate on why Maynard was barred from owning a gun. But Maynard's father has said his son had mental problems and had previously been in an institution.

So what you are saying is we need more restrictions on firearms and better enforcement controls on the existing ones. I understand.
I think we should have a test for retards on the road. All cars should have a camera mounted on them, and once a year at random it should record and send it back to DMV for review. This morning at my kid's school I saw a car stop at a crosswalk, and the car behind it thought it had stopped to let their kid out and went around them at 20MPH and nearly took out three kids.
This is my problem with firearms. People are fucking stupid. They can't drive, and yet we allow the general population to have firearms?
