Most of the popular Hostess brands, including Twinkies, have new owners.

Sales closed this week on the cake lines of the bankrupt snack maker.

Earlier this week, the deal closed to sell Hostess and Dolly Madison products, five bakeries and some equipment to affiliates of Apollo Global Management and Metropoulos & Co. for $410 million.

That deal includes Twinkies, Ho Hos, Ding Dongs and Donettes snack cakes.

A spokesman for Apollo and Metropoulos could not be reached for comment.

McKee Foods Corp. closed Thursday on the purchase of several cake lines, including Ring Dings, Devil Dogs and Drake’s Coffee Cake, along with some equipment. Tennessee-based McKee agreed to pay $27.5 million.

A McKee spokesman said the company, which did not buy any of the former plants, has not met with any of the unions that formerly made the treats for Hostess.

“We have not been in talks with unions, nor do we believe there is a reason to be,” said Mike Gloekler. “Since our deal is for intellectual property and equipment, all of which will move to our existing facilities inVirginiaandTennessee, there will be no local hiring inNew Jersey.”

When Hostess former bakers’ union went on strike last year, pushing the fragile company over the edge, some workers saw new ownership as their only hope.
