Right - he appears so intentionally obtuse that it must be a farce.
Then again, he doesn't strike me as being particularly bright, either. Have you noticed how he'll pick up a new word or concept then make excessive use of them? Most recently was the over-abundant use of "ad hominem" and "Stockholm syndrome". I imagine one of his idols made use of the terms and he's merely regurgitating what they said ad nauseum.
