Well, that would make since normally but you're thinking like someone who isn't an extremist. The plan may have been to get caught and blow themselves up, only it didn't go as planned. The plan may have been to just keep going until they get caught or killed.

The fact that the one kid walked through with his hat backwards totally showing his face, says he wasn't worried at all. That probably means one thing, he knew he was going to die.

These whack job extremists think all sorts of crazy things, so there is no telling what the plan was and why they didn't flee. I'm still holding onto to the idea that they were not finished, and that is why they still have explosives and stayed in the area. Maybe they thought they would have more time, or were committed to going out as martyr, which is an honor for Muslim radicals, which they may or may not be. Unless this guy speaks, we'll never know. Hell, they could have been just two guys pissed off about paying taxes and didn't think any part of this through at all.
