I said rational people. If you have ever been to a Wall Street area bar then you know that the people of Wall Street do not fit that description.
But, from what I heard on the news it was mainly computer trades that caused the drop. They said that there are programs that scan headlines for keywords/phrases and takes automatic action. I would not have thought that they would have shit at that level of automation. If they do, then it is not too smart.
One reporter commented about a 140 character tweet causing this much havoc across the world.
