no its corrupt 3rd world leaders who are put in place by the west or replaced if they do not obey...you do not win a "democratic" election without the help of the west...democracy is just a big lie when installed by force
after years of US foreign policy on a region, this usually means decades of sanctions, the whole region is impoverished and there is barely any economy left...its hard for you to understand because you have a choice because you have an economy left intact
its like beating somebody to a pulp and then offering them a ride home...if he accepts out of dire straits you can be cavalier about it and say he had a choice to die where he lay and do the honorable thing...
ive been to many poor countries from north aftica right up to indonesia, its the same story everywhere, nestle and coca cola are buying up all the fresh water and selling it to locals...the tap water is undrinkable and you may find water absurdly cheap as an american but when you have next to zero income you will need to drink water somewhere and in most of these places there is nothing else...
they do not find new springs or invest in technology much, they just buy state owned springs/wells/whatever and crank up the price gradually...it has nothing to do with capturing emerging markets or bullshit like that its pure exploitation because the governments are practically dependent on the USA...
calling them puppet governments would be appropriate...because when your existence depends on somebody, you do what ever the fuck they want...its very simple really...
