What do you mean they are not legally here? Did you bother to read the post? Didn't think so.
The California Assembly passed a bill on Thursday that would make the state the first in the nation to allow
non-citizens who are in the country legally to serve on jury duty.

So what? We don't have a draft; haven't in close to 40 years. But you are right, we aren't getting drafted either.

It's unfair because if you work for any decent sized company, they'll pay your salary/wages while you do jury duty. To make it fair, I think that should not be allowed--nobody should be paid anything.

It's unfair because some people work for themselves and others work for companies?
I used to work for the phone company and they paid 100% of our wages when we were on jury duty, and the courts loved us. Not sure where you live, but usually, around here anyway, you are on jury duty but you call in the night before to see if you have to report or not.

When did you have to be a citizen to serve in the Army?

We already have "paid" experts in court cases and far too often these guys are just "experts" saying what the the guys paying them, wants them to say. Do you really think it'a wise to go down that road with a jury?

Minimum wage? In CA we get about $5/day as I recall. That isn't gas money.
