I agree that there's evolutionary forces at work, but the history of the human race is built upon doing shit which goes against "natural instincts".
Right now we have humans living in space. You gonna tell me that's "natural"? Humans built a fucking robot which is right now exploring Mars, that shit sure ain't natural.
If we simply say "well, we shouldn't try to manage the ancestral animal we carry on our genes" then maybe we should all forget about any technology which is more complicated than a stick and a string because it's after all, unnatural.
Go back to living in caves and in trees, forget about medicine and let nature take it's course, let the average lifespan go back to thirty, forty if you're lucky because curing sickness with technology is unnatural, saves those whose genes are weak.
Let women and babies dying during childbirth become common place as it was back in the days, let nature cull the weak.
And sometimes when I look at the state of the world I wonder if that isn't the way to go.
