Did think about Bitcoin, but given that the site makes only low double figures monthly it's probably not worth it.
I guess the question is less about making $ and more how to present the signup so that it's still a little.... um, "difficult" to gain access... rather than just a free for all. Credit card billing turns out to be a fairly good filter for junk visitors.
