I haven't followed this case much, because it seemed like just another huge mess du jour that HLN loves to sensationalize for months on end. But what I have read, a few thoughts come to mind.
it seems the victim was quite a piece of shit. Not to say he got what he deserved but certainly had he not been such an alleged piece of shit to her this probably wouldn't have gone down so brutally.
She evidently went to great pains to plan and execute, including steps to cover her tracks, etc. Had she just offed the guy and then went straight to the cops and confessed I doubt she'd be now considered for the death penalty.
Lastly, why people do all that, plan, rent cars, fill gas cans, cut, slash throats, hide evidence, hide themselves, run from cops, etc, then show up in court and plead NOT GUILTY is beyond me. Did you do it? Yes? Then own it.
It's possible he got what he deserved. Now it's her turn I suppose.
