I'm pretty sure that "herpes" isn't referring to hsv1 (cold sores)

I'm assuming that "herpes" means hsv2 (you'll notice that those stats even specify "hsv2" that I quoted)

And plenty of people have it without even knowing it. It doesn't show up on most people. And the people it does show up only have an occasional tiny "blister" on them that goes away in a few days. And it is "contagious" at the time right BEFORE the blister comes up...the afflicted person feels a little itchy. A day or so later there is a small blister. Well, that day or two before is when it gets spread to other people.

I also just read that people who are "symptom free" are contagious 10% of the time.

Society kinda makes herpes a shunned disease to be ashamed of. But the reality is...it's pretty much common. Nobody wants to admit they have it, but most do (even if they don't know it).

Of course I don't have it! And none of the rest of us on GFY have it. I'm strictly talking about the rest of the population.
