Ok, Harvey I'll make my own prediction. I got out of adult 10 years ago because I saw paid memberships for the fucking privilege of providing free content to tgps would kill it. And it sure as hell did, or started the downward spiral that tubes finished off. You had guys like me that paid for content, it put us on the wrong side of profitability. Anyway since I called that one right for the record here is my prediction. It isn't as hopeless for killing illegal content as you might think. Now don't get me wrong, Ain't a congressman, no matter how tofo eating liberal he is that is going to go to bat for porn content owners but he will for mainstream content owners. Walt Disney and their peers got a whole lot of pull. And it's their shit that getting ripped of now. Why do you think Mega got shut down? Sure the fuck wasn't for us. I know some would disagree with this but if you peeled all the layers of bull shit back I bet if you took out the WD effect as I call it out of the equation I bet it wouldn't have happened.
We will ride that tide to some degree. How effective depends on how tightly it gets tied to mainstream. That is if it reaches a point that mainstream piracy is minimal and porn is still getting ripped off well then we are shit out of luck. But I don't see that happening. If your going to rip off one, your going to do the other. So adult is going to be able the use the same laws the big boys are going to get in place to protect their shit.
It's already happening. Used to be if you went on your average "pirate" forum there would be the best content from the best providers. Now most are switching over to amateur only. Not because it's more popular but because they are starting to feel the heat. Now don't get me wrong piracy has always been here and always will be. But the more heat the more undercover it has to become and the less accessible it becomes. When it reaches the point that the average Joe can't get to the content easy enough then he will be willing to shell out a couple bucks for a pay site.
But no matter how that shakes out the next big thing is going be virtual, interactive. Yes, First it was tgps, and then tubes but mark my words. I don't know when but it will as big if not bigger than both. It's kinda clunky right now but there will be a tripping point where the tech reaches a point where it will be really cool. A lot of you guys in your quest for a quick buck can't see it from the average Joe's perspective. And if Joe can go from being hohum to a super stud he'll shell out the dough.
