Looks to me like you are spreading a false "fact" that isn't anywhere close to the truth. Stop watching MSNBC all the time.
Also realize that the amount of money that any state gets has not a goddamn thing to do with whether they are "Republican" or "Democrat". It is all tied in to how much money a particular state's crooked politicians in Congress can funnel back to their cronies at home.

Red states were more likely to get a bigger cut of federal spending. Of the 22 states that went to McCain in 2008, 86 percent received more federal spending than they paid in taxes in 2010. In contrast, 55 percent of the states that went to Obama received more federal spending than they paid in taxes. Republican states, on average, received $1.46 in federal spending for every tax dollar paid; Democratic states, on average, received $1.16.

The only state that was Red that is not a welfare state is Texas..
edit.. looks like the last time around Arkansas and Nebraska joined the club of non welfare state.. Prior to this, it was only Texas & FL whom were Red states that paid their own way. FL went blue so the last election it's not counted as red but also got more federal money this time around, most likely due to the oil spill in the Gulf.
Also don't be a dumb-ass.. Populated states get more money than non populated states, because they pay more than un-populated states. Most Blue states are more populated than most Red states. It matter only if the state is paying "it's own way" which almost no Red state is doing..
