Yep, but atleast you're free to leave and choose your occupation (to some extent). Move freely, etc.
If I had the power I'd introduce a profit sharing scheme for all businesses. The owner still gets a deserved higher income for their work. But rather than just getting paid £6 an hour, workers get shares of the profits as a bonus.
It would also get some of the lazy people into a job, and make workers more proud to do their job because they will see more benefit.
Same goes for benefits, link it to the economy, if the economy is in trouble you get less benefits for regular unemployment. Will stop people sitting around collecting dole money and get them to take some action. Injury and disability would obviously be excluded.
Not a perfect system, and obviously an idea/pipe dream, but I reckon it could work.
