There is a law, however, that makes it illegal to assault someone... regardless if you think they are "following you" or whatever, and in Florida apparently it is legal to "stand your ground" if someone violently assaults you.

Let me give you two scenarios. I'm curious who you think is in the wrong or right in these. Both scenarios take place after Zimmerman has hung the up with the 911 dispatcher and is supposedly on his way to meet the police.
1. Zimmerman decides to follow Martin. He heads in that direction and quickly catches up with him. He keeps his distance, following Martin and not saying anything. Eventually Martin stops and confronts Zimmerman. He asks him what is problem is and wants to know why he is following him. Zimmerman tells him he is part of the neighborhood watch and that he doesn't know him and he is acting a little suspicious so he has called the police and is keeping an eye on him until the police get there. Martin gets pissed, gets in Zimmerman's face then pushes him to the ground, jumps on him and starts punching him.
2. Zimmerman decides to follow Martin. He quickly catches up to him because Martin is now walking again and Zimmerman is at a slow job. He calls out for Martin to stop. Martin doesn't listen. Zimmerman runs up to Martin and tells him to stop. Martin doesn't. Zimmerman grabs Martin by the shirt and stops him. Martin turns around and tells Zimmerman to let go of him and leave him alone. When he tries to pull free Zimmerman physically restrains him. Martin sees that Zimmerman is carrying a gun. He decides to act. He pushes Zimmerman off of him and tries to flee, but Zimmerman grabs him again so he swing on Zimmerman and a fight breaks out.
