The Soviet Union was a Stalinist country. Lenin and Trotksy believed in international socialism; Stalin didn't give a fuck. Hell, he wasn't even a socialist/communist.
As for the Communist take over of Vietnam. So what? What difference does it make to the US what the political persuasion of the Vietnamese Government is? I don't see them giving a shit about ours.
PS. The last time shit was brought to our back yard was eleven and half years ago. We all know how much that deterred us from interfering in other countries.
