The only thing your post brings to the table is fair trade and monopoly.
The way north America works is so backward. You have a government in Canada buying and selling from its own people "liquor" that they have a monopoly on, but can't make a profit off of it.
Opposite in the UK, it's pretty much a free market, but open to the "black market".
Monsato is very similar in that respect, nobody should "own" food supply, Water supply, etc. Doesn't matter what object you want to use, nobody should control it.
