Can't comment on the stats but it's enough to see what's going on in the USA nowadays.
Yeah, Central Urop doesnt have any sea and the weather sucks donkey balls, so Spain, Italy, Greece seem likeable weather wise, but I always hated 'maniana' style they have in everything ... Still would prefer 'something slavic' not far away from the sea
