This is not a slam on you, this is simply talking about building a sales funnel. If you are not always adding in new traffic sources, more data, and working to fill up the sales funnel, you will find sales dropping off. If you have some basic sales or marketing experience, it would more a less explain this more in detail.
A lot of folks simply get lazy and complacent versus build build build. You also have changing trends and technologies in the mix. However, if you're not constantly filling your sales funnel, you will eventually start to see a drop.

This, this, this, across all industries/markets/fields/whatever. Great posts, thank you! Yes BF this is true - I've been 'experimenting' with (tweaking, trying this and that) my employees and the work they do (how much, to whom, etc) and while traffic has remained steady my own focus has been on this and not 'marketing' (per se). This is changing and thus threads like these from me.
One basic thing is for sure, and I've noticed this the almost 5 years I've been doing this adult game: unless you are CONSTANTLY FEEDING THE BEAST (the internet) YOU WILL BE IN DECLINE.
