Wife and I were at our favorite Japanese market shopping for the weekend. While there, the shooter was killing his father and brother and setting fire to the house. While I was deciding which mayo to buy the shooter walked out into the street, hijacked a car, stopped another car and began shooting into that car. On the way to the college, in the hijacked car and with the hostage in tow he shot people in the street. When he got to the campus and stepped out of the car he shot a bag lady in the face. And then opened up with an AK on anyone he found as he made his way to the library.
By that time my wife and I were on our way down Pico. There is a pot clinic on the corner of a major intersection. I saw two cop cars. I thought a raid was going on. Then saw a helicopter ahead. Then saw more cop cars. Drove a little further towards SMC and there were cop cars everywhere. More helicopters. We wondered what was going on then discovered Obama was in town a few blocks away.
This happened in the neighborhood next to mine. For several hours there were helicopters hovering in unison and tactical vehicles patrolling.
Cops killed one shooter and arrested a "person of interest." Yep, just a day in the life on the west side of LA.
