I have a feeling they labored over the choice of when to show the wedding scene, and ultimately deciding to do it before the finale. Imagine the downer it would have been if the last thing viewers see is Caetlyn Stark getting her throat slit.

It was smarter to end the season on a semi-positive note instead.
