Suggestion is to join groups
My high school class has a group 163 members
My grade school someone started a group as the school's being rebuilt has 200 members
I was in 2 groups that had over 4000 members each. Both were devoted to the county I live in. People here are really proud of their county and post picture of old stores, movie theaters, schools, group school pictures and old family pictures. I only quit as the moderators wouldn't ban a husband and wife that would call everybody stupid or liars.

I know these are small numbers, but I'm not out to make money off this. There are much bigger groups out there. I haven't done it as a business tool, yet. Waiting on my website to be finished. Search for some popular topics.

Wish people in the group happy birthday, post on topic. In the county groups I posted a trivia question every few days about something or someone in the county. Got lots of responses. A lot of times people post food pictures or of their flower garden. I'll ask why wasn't I invited over for dinner or how soon can they make my back yard look that nice. You don't get a lot of LIKES that way, but it will build up your pool of friends so when you post something special you will get a lot of likes.

I also have a Twitter for the website I'm working on. I haven't really pushed it, as I am waiting on the site. I get several new followers a day without even trying. I post one or two tweets a day relevant to my business. I follow people who would be possible customers or competitors of my business. If I see a good tweet I retweet it. I even keep a spreadsheet with the date and my tweet(s). Figure a year later I can repost the same tweet and most people won't realize it's a rerun.

Soon as the website is done, I'll start banging Twitter hard and set up a FB page just for the business. Good thing about both is it just takes a few minutes a couple of times a day.

Saw something interesting yesterday. Don't know how Cash Mobs work but the local group had a contest. It was 10 local wineries and wine stores. Whomever got the most votes the Cash Mob would come to them. The wineries then asked their followers to vote for them.

Also put on your websites a LIKE button.

FB has other advantages. Found a girl I used to dance with in junior high at the weekly school dances. Just dumped her boyfriend and invited me to Arizona and promised to run my jeans up her front yard flag pole. Wouldn't you know it, a few days before I go she gets back with the BF. Went as the ticket would have been wasted. Sure wasn't the trip I planned. But I figure she'll dump him again.
" promised to run my jeans up her front yard flag pole"
What does this mean mate?
