With Iraq they were given full access.

That is so false in every way.
The evening news showed scenes of reporters AT battle scenes while bullets were flying in Vietnam.
And yes, they then went into burnt out villages and showed kids and women (civilians) dead everywhere.
They weren't "allowed" into "approved areas" in Vietnam, they went everywhere. There were LOTS of gonzo journalists everywhere in Vietnam.
But as usual...you seem to want to try and be contrarian in every annoying way you can when it comes to discussions about the govt.
I get it man, you feel totally free and trust that will never change. I understand.
Some of us do not feel that way. I see "baby steps" towards less freedom in our country.
And I believe in a free press, free speech, right to privacy...and the bigger the govt. gets, the less I trust them.
That's just the way I feel about it. And the history of what our govt. does...right up until today...doesn't make me feel any better about them in any way.
