That's what I don't think you are really focusing on. You are picking "sides" when there aren't any among politicians. They are all the same.

I don't believe that any Republican or Democrat in Congress gives 2 shits about abortion (or anything else) one way or another. They simply choose their "position" on the "issues" according to what will get them elected or re-elected and keep them in their nice positions of power and wealth.

There is simply NO way that politicians care one bit about you, me, or any of these things that they debate all the time.
They are just wanting to keep their own power.

As for Rachel Maddow...she is "reporting" (if you call talking about stupid comments from politicians "reporting) whatever will get her fan base of ultra-liberal viewers and lesbians (she is definitely THE superstar of the lesbian community) to watch the show and bring in ratings.
And it works for her somewhat.
She gets trounced 2 to 1 by Hannity in the ratings...BUT, she's kicking the shit out of Piers Morgan on CNN in the ratings. So she's at number 2 in her time slot.

By the way, the "conservative" shows like Hannity do the same exact thing to Democrat politicians as Maddow is doing with Republican politicians.
Hannity will play montages of Democrat politicians that will feature them taking one side on an issue and then taking the EXACT OPPOSITE side at another time. He has a great one of Obama making promises and then later breaking them.

What Maddow is doing with that vid is good television and good entertainment. Where she fucks it all up...is by not following it up with a conservative guest to debate them over the video.
Instead...she follows it up on her show with other ultra-liberal guests who all smirk and laugh and agree with her 100%

And that is why Hannity is killing her in the ratings. He brings on liberals to defend themselves and that is far more interesting to the viewers.
