I actually grow vegetables and fruits commercially as a side project...in a lab or green house you are right...no doubt about it...in sterile conditions with no pests and with regular weather the GMO sucks...
but in the field it is another story...you see a 3rd world farmer you are dead or broke if your crop does not succeed...weeds and insects are problem that you simply can not imagine...

there is something called a "karenz period" or in english a "Waiting period" for the pesticides to actually leave the plant clean...if you pick your crops before the karenz is over its not GMO-s fault or illuminati conspiracy...its plain stupidity and journalistic sensationalism...
most of the "GMO-ing" is done by natural seed selection anyway...we have a GMO corn institute next to our dirt track...
