I will say this re: the n word. When it's battered about by the top entertainers as part of comedy or as a term of everyday greeting/endearment among blacks it loses the harsh negativity it's also supposed to convey. Lead by example comes to mind.

man larry the cable guy says stuff all the time. she was not calling people the n-word as comedy it was out of anger. there is a difference.
