As an adult webmaster not wanting to have the content that I produced spread for free on tube & file sharing sites, I find DRM to be effective.
Customers do not like it because they have to keep a membership to your site even if the video is downloaded into their computer for later viewing. Adult review sites will rak your site much lower because of that, which is not helping us.
If I was to start another paysite, I would seriously consider using DRM again as I am sick to see thieves stealing my content.

This is exactly the type of answer I was looking for. Thanks!
The reason I'm asking is because I think I may have an answer to the problem. Something I noticed in the industry over the years is that nobody seems to want to invest heavily into a DRM solution for one reason or another, be it the up cost or the fear that it won't get adopted. But I've noticed at some of the conventions like InterNEXT that there's a lot discussion about it and even some complaining that it's not readily available in some universal format; working on Windows, Mac, Android and iOS.
DRM certainly hasn't be fully universal until recently. And even the universal DRM is incredibly expensive as the DRM service provider gets boned from every angle.
But I think I have a solution for this and I'd like to get opinions on it. Before I explain it in more detail, I'd like to get a few more opinions and hear some experiences from more webmasters and producers.
