There was a really great model who should have been making awesome tips, but this idiot jackass "pedro" was begging to be a mod and then when he finally got permissions he started silencing everybody, asking for english only..blah blah....throwing up tips .gifs every 5 seconds, acting like he was the biggest loverboy pimp in the world keeping the hand strong. Doling out opinion left and right..do this do that, don't do this..etc..
It just got me thinking. Giving members the ability to be mods is such a fucking horrible idea. They are obviously biased and obsessed with the models. What rational person would want to sit and mod a chat room for a cam model that they really have no financial or real personal commitment too.
Its shitty to send traffic to a program and have potential grey or blue members who might want to sign up after a bit of viewing...or who might tip, get silenced and ran off buy these hungry power trip perverts...
If I was running Chaturbate I would have it that only the cam owner or maybe possibly another account that was setup soley to be an admin on a consistent basis could mod the rooms.

Yes everyone I know agrees the idea of models giving members a moderator power, it causes only troubles, exactly as you specified. However, site admins cost money, these are free of charge. Consider that livejasmin got 60 full time admins, in shifts, this may cost some $100,000 a month as minimum.
