true but this isn't 'slapping people in the face' - there's an American citizen who has committed the most serious crime you can against your own country and he is on the run and other countries are meddling. whether you agree or not with Snowden's actions doesn't change the fact he's broken some serious laws.
if Snowden were to be executed like most of these other countries would do to him then I'd understand some countries giving him shelter or humanitarian grounds but he's not going to face the death penalty.

Pretty sure the United States signed this ..
Article 14 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that "Everyone has the right to seek and to enjoy in other countries asylum from persecution."
