in vancouver there is no melting pot, per say..
its more 'we came to this new country from our old country and we're gonna keep our traditional ways as brutally as we possibly can'
so an indian girl dating a white guy is a huge no no
but for an indian girl to wanna date a white guy, she'd explain it as 'Im an oreo'.
So, outwardly a visible minority, but a person who grew up on "the same block" as the rest of us
I never knew it was a racist term, id always heard it from visible minorities, communicating that they're cosmopolitan
