Where in TX did you go? Growing up as a hippie in the 60's in So Cal, TX was a place that no one dared venture to; then I married a chick from there and was forced to visit. I could not believe how friendly and trusting people were; and I am not talking about her friends/family. I am talking total strangers, so trusting it was sickening.
In subsequent years I have traveled through TX frequently on bike and car and never has an unpleasant experience.
