No way. If you've been around you've seen how shady some of these companies can be and how crazy some of the reps are.
I see why they might feel they need it (to cut fraudulent affiliates) but there are other ways to do it and any true career criminal will have no problem creating a fake photo id to send you over the internet. You have no idea what they really look like because they aren't in front of you.
With the way the industry is now there is a much better case for affiliates to ask for photo IDs from the owners as well as their home addresses.
