It?s vegan and gluten-free. It?s good for your teeth. It?s minty. And it?s for oral sex. It?s Blowpaste. The water-based lubricant Jasmine Ejan and boyfriend Steven Guistolise of Edgewater dreamed up hit the market in late-April, and now the couple plans on taking their concoction national. It?s an idea Ejan said she?s had for years -- her entrepreneurial spirit inspired by shows like "Shark Tank" and the invention itself stemming from a practical problem.
?Basically, you brush your teeth, then you?re about to do the deed, and most lubes have a aspartame or candy like substances in them,? she said. ?And then you have to brush your teeth again.? Blowpaste, Ejan said, cuts out that last step, and uses ingredients like aloe vera, sodium bicarbonate and peppermint oil which promote better dental health. Additionally, she said the aloe vera is good for digestion, and peppermint oil, er, enhances the receiver's experience. ?I?m a very lucky man being the co-founder,? Guistolise said, adding that the couple has tested the formula themselves and given it out to their friends.
The parent company, CheekyChaCha, is still small, and Guistolise said the pair have been making the product themselves in their ?Luberatory,? a small space in the city where they bottle the mixture. A 2-ounce bottle is $10 and sold on Amazon, the CheekyChaCha website and a handful of small sex shops. The goal, Ejan said, is to take the product global. In order to do that, they launched an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign, aimed at raising $5,000 in funds to take the product to adult entertainment shows like Exxxotica and AVN.
