What "guarantees" are being offered? A guarantee the taxpayers are going to bail out your retirement fund? I do not remember anyone giving me any guarantees I would not lose money in the stock market, that the phone company would not go belly up, that I would have forever health benefits regardless of the economic climate and cost of doing business.

While you're bouncing all over the map as to an actual union, a company, and Canada vs U.S. labor laws, the point is still that there is no guarantee on anything.
