Here we go, of course this is not about protecting children. Let's be honest they will use it censor political and other inconvenient for them stuff and they don't care how much damage it will do to legit businesses, to innocent websites and to people who don't wish censorship.
If this was about protecting minors from adult content they would do much better by educating people how to block adult content on their computers.
It is not hard to install a proper filtering software. Also computers and the Internet are not something that new that just popped yesterday. All most popular operating systems have user profiles, it's really easy to set up a profile for minors with an access to only white-listed websites. It's only a matter of good will and 1 hour of spare time.
