Honest question, three young men apply for a job with your company ... Larry, Chris and Shaaliver. All have equal skills needed for the job, I know which one I'm not choosing.
Dress for success and name your kid for success as well.

This has been proven time and again in many studies. This clip from Freakenomics lays it out pretty well:

I live in an old-school Italian neighborhood in The Bronx (Morris Park). On Friday, I was getting lunch at my favorite deli, G & R,
http://www.yelp.com/biz/g-and-r-deli-corp-bronx and one of the guys behind the counter said he had just gotten assigned to a school in the Claremont section, where "Shaaliver" wreaked havoc. When asked what he was going to teach, he said 7th grade. When the customer asked - no, what subjects, he said "we don't teach subjects at that school, we just try to make it to the end of the day".
The system is broke and can only start to be fixed from the inside - and that's the family structure. Calling your kid Shaaliver is doing no one any favors.
