I'm not sure what you're asking?
Cuba is cut off because the U.S. govt. wanted to get the people to rise up. So they are unable to trade openly on the world market...for a lot of years we had a naval embargo on them (our warships surrounding the island) so the Soviets couldn't supply them with weapons (and of course anything else that the people might need).
I was actually alive (just a baby) during the Cuban Missile Crisis and I grew up with all the propaganda about how "evil" Cuba was and how the people are so oppressed.
Then a quick few clicks on Google in 2013 and you find out that we here in the U.S. have the most people in prison.
We accuse them of having "political prisoners" (I think they now have 90 "political prisoners" in Cuba)...meanwhile, here in the U.S. : if those people were doing the same thing here we would be calling them "terrorists" and have them in prison too.
