When I was a kid we has a husky do get into it with porcupine. It wasn't nearly that bad, but it was pretty nasty. At first my moms friend suggested we just hold the dog down and pull them out. After trying one it was clear that was not going to work so we took her to the vet and they knocked her out and removed them. She probably had about a third as many quills as that dog and it took them a few hours. That poor puppy is in for some serious vet time.
