I just don't see why do you need a specific contract (named "mariage") and why you can't use another kind of contract. You know, you can't be bishop if you have gay sex with someone else, don't you think that unfair and against gay people ?
Mariage is a kind of tradition and that's why some people don't want that gay people have it: because it's against with their traditions. You know, their social identity and that's why they are against that (and even if there is a civilian and a religious mariage).
