I think the 70's photos have more to do with the photographer's style than the girls themselves.
He has every girl giving a big smile for instance.
Whereas the modern photographers have all the girls giving that "come hither", "sexy" and sultry gaze in all the pictures.
Makes the 1970's ones feel warm and fuzzy. Makes the newer ones look more "pro" (whore in laymans terms lol).
