And they probably were enemies of the state in the middle of crazy-muslim-land.
That's why he was able to have a peaceful and prosperous Egypt and keep international trade flowing through the Suez Canal.
After the shit happened in Iraq...I've begun to think that the people in those middle eastern countries have a society that requires a dictator/"strongman" to keep them from total chaos.
Saddam kept shit under control in Iraq, and Mubarak kept things calm in Egypt.
We should have kept our noses out of Egypt's situation instead of Obama saying that Mubarak "has to go" at the time.
Now look at what is happening. The great "Arab Spring" is turning into just another Arab nightmare.
I don't know what is in the mindset of those people..but it seems like a large percentage of them are just hell-bent on destruction.
