One thing i can tell you from experience ...

Try to limit the amount of hits per hour. What you need is a good 5 or 6 days of steady hits, regardless of how large the quantity.

What happens when you do it as i first explained ....

alot of big traes dont actually approve your site until few days later, or until you contact them.

If you blast them with hits in the beginning, you might as well toss the hits out the window.
