The decision to have banners on affiliate traffic was discussed here over a year ago. The ads are necessary for us to maintain high payouts to our affiliates, and we believe that Chaturbate is a good enough product that users won't be "lost" to these banners.
Of course, some affiliates were upset and refused to promote us over it. The affiliates that do promote us are experiencing good conversions and were aware of the banners before they put links up.
The only thing that is changing here is that we're selling ads on a pay-per-click basis. This is a good money making opportunity for those who wish to buy the traffic.
