Conan O'Brien had a great interview how he envied musicians vs. being a comic. He wouldn't do benefits because everyone always wants to hear new jokes and it was too much pressure. Where as if you're in a grandfathered rock band with a few hits you just roll out and play the same song from 30 years ago and everyone loves you. A comedian always needs fresh material.
