i like the bargains, the gibson wannabe's so to speak. love them in fact, and very much the asian gibson wannabe's too. i can't wait to get a made in korea casino. srsly.
i'm not sure if it's fair to judge an entire brand line of guitars but you could very well be right as i am new to them.
and i did have a riviera come through here that i struggled to embrace for 2 fracking weeks and just could not get it playing for me, had to send it back. it was a mi china but the fit and finish and such were pretty darn good, although i'm sure the electronics were lacking.
speaking of, the electronics on this serrento reissue are all top-notch.

I have a chinese Danelectro U2 that I love, but I will need to replace the tuners before I am really happy with it. I cant trust it enough to take it to a gig now but its fun to practice on and sounds and feels great.
I also have one of
these which I know is Asian, they don't tell you where its made but swear its not China. It's too inexpensive for Japan so I guess that leaves Korea and Indonesia.
I also have a couple Chinese Fender acoustics that I hate. A classical and a resonator. They both work fine but I just don't like them, not even sure why. They don't speak to me except to say "you should have spent more money if you wanted a real guitar". I bought them thinking I fix them up somehow but instead they are just sitting there.
